Boil Water Advisory 324 - 364 E Bacon Street
On 9/30/2019, the BPU will replace a fire hydrant that was struck by a vehicle. Water pressure will be off for the time it takes to remove the old hydrant and place a new hydrant and valve, resulting in a boil water advisory for the houses on E Bacon Street, east of Wolcott Street.
Addresses affected are 324 through 364 E. Bacon, 17 homes.
Therefore, a boil water notice will be in effect until two consecutive 24 hour tests come back clear. Water for consumption or cooking should be boiled for at least 15 minutes. Bathing and washing clothes and dishes should cause no problems.
The boil water notice will be in effect for as little as 48 hours after the first water sample is taken but may take longer. Flushing a hose bib outside your home after flow is re-established, until clear, will aid in the clearing of your household lines.
Contact door to door and door hangers will be used to notify those affected of the lifted boil water requirement. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you.
