Fire Department
Originally organized as the Baw Beese Fire Company in 1857, the City of Hillsdale Fire Department moved from the old firehouse on McCollum St. in the 1930's, to City Hall where it resided until 1964. The current fire station was built in 1964 and is located at 77 E. Carleton Rd.
The City Fire Department provides:
- 24-hour fire protection - Class 4/4X fire rating
- Staff of full-time and volunteer fire fighters
- Three engines, including an 100-foot platform truck
- Pumping capacity of 4,750 gallon per minute
- Provide rescue and medical first responder services
24-hour ambulance service is provided by Reading Emergency Service, with a local ambulance location within the City of Hillsdale.
