Treasurer

The City Treasurer is a part-time official who is responsible for tax collection and disbursement within the City of Hillsdale. Any questions related to tax assessing should be directed to the City Assessing Office at (517) 437-6454.

OFFICE HOURS: M-F: 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m - 3:00 p.m. From July 1 to August 31 Summer Tax Collection and
From December 1 to March 1 Winter Tax Collection

From September 1 to November 30  business hours are from 9:00 a.m to 12:00 p.m.

Property tax information is available online for the current year. For any information regarding delinquent real property taxes from previous years, please contact the County Treasurer at (517) 437-4700.

Summer taxes are payable without penalty or interest between July 1st and August 31st. Winter taxes are payable without penalty or interest between December 1st and February 14th. Partial payments are accepted. On March 1st, all unpaid summer and winter real taxes are turned over to the County as delinquent, and will be collected by the Hillsdale County Treasurer. Collection of delinquent City of Hillsdale personal property taxes is the responsibility of the City Treasurer.
