LIFTED - Boil Advisory Notice

boil notice

On 8/7/2019, three valves will be replaced on Union Street and Howder Street.  Water will be turned off to allow the replacements to occur resulting in the need to boil water once service is restored.

The following addresses will be affected: E. Fayette St. from Hillsdale Street to Oak Street ,75-114 and 160 Oak Street; Union Street from Fayette St. to Mead St., 101-160 and 27 Mead St.; Howder St. from Hillsdale St. to Oak St., 1-58; River St. from Hillsdale St. to Union St., 76, 81, 83; Hillsdale Street, 106, 110, 113, 114, 117, 130, 134, 135, and 136.

Therefore, a boil water notice will be in effect until two consecutive 24 hour tests come back clear.  Water for consumption or cooking should be boiled for at least 15 minutes.  Bathing and washing clothes should not cause any problems.

The boil water notice will be in effect for as little as 48 hours after the first water sample is taken but may take longer.  Flushing a hose bib outside your home after flow is re-established, till clear, will aid in the clearing of your household lines (recommended since scale inside water lines may break loose).

Contact door to door and door hangers will be used to notify those affected of the lifted boil water requirement.  We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you.
