LIFTED: Boil Advisory Notice Westwood and Norwood Avenue

boil notice

UPDATE: 8/26/2019 THIS BOIL ADVISORY HAS BEEN LIFTED PER BPU.

On 8/22/2019, the connection of the new water main on Rippon Street and the existing water main to the east on Westwood Street will be made.  Water pressure will be off for the time it takes to make the connection, resulting in a boil water advisory for the houses on Westwood Street from Rippon Ave to N. Norwood Ave, and on N. Norwood Ave from Westwood Street to Bacon Street.

The following addresses will be affected:  37 – 59 Westwood Street, 6 - 40 N. Norwood Avenue

Therefore, a boil water notice will be in effect until two consecutive 24 hour tests come back clear.  Water for consumption or cooking should be boiled for at least 15 minutes.  Bathing and washing clothes should not cause any problems.

The boil water notice will be in effect for as little as 48 hours after the first water sample is taken but may take longer.  Flushing a hose bib outside your home after flow is re-established, until clear, will aid in the clearing of your household lines.

Contact door to door and door hangers will be used to notify those affected of the lifted boil water requirement.  We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you.
