Firefighter

The City of Hillsdale, Michigan is accepting applications for the position of full time Firefighter. Applications may be obtained at Hillsdale City Hall, 97 N. Broad St., Hillsdale, MI  49242, or at www.cityofhillsdale.org  (517.437.6460)

Minimum requirements are:

• High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
• Minimum of 5 years structural firefighting/emergency medical experience
• Valid unrestricted State of Michigan driver’s license
• Michigan Fire Fighter’s Training Council Firefighter I & II certificate
• Michigan Fire Fighter’s Training Council First Responder Operations certificate
• Michigan Fire Fighter’s Training Council Hazardous Materials Responder Operations certificate
• Michigan Fire Fighter’s Training Council Emergency Vehicle Operations certificate
• Michigan Fire Fighter’s Training Council Company Officer I & II certificate
• Michigan Department of Health and Human Services Medical First Responder License or higher
• Must be able to demonstrate technical skills in firefighting and emergency medical services
• Must be able to command and operate emergency scenes
• Must be able to pass a physical, drug screen, and background check
• Preferred but not required: NIMS ICS 100, 200, 300, 400, 700 and 800
