HILLSDALE CITY FIRE DEPARTMENT

The City of Hillsdale is suspending all issued and denying all requested burn permits until further notice. This suspension mirrors that of the Michigan Department of Natural Resources suspension in response to the “Stay Home, Stay Safe” Executive Order issued by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, aimed at further protecting public health and safety.

Less burning means less potential for escaped fires. Suspending burn permits will help protect first responders from infection by the novel coronavirus. Limiting the possibility of an escaped fire frees our first responders to continue making medical calls during this health crisis.

We appreciate the publics’ assistance with this matter and will lift the ban as soon as the health crisis permits.
