Summary
Transport people safely from one place to another on a City of Hillsdale transit bus.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Drivers are generally required the ability to perform the following:
- Drive safely along designated routes.
- Obey traffic laws, safety procedures, and transit regulations.
- Pick up and drop off passengers at designated locations.
- Collect fares.
- Assist passengers with disabilities to get on the bus.
- Communicate with passengers and employers regarding delays or any issues along a route.
- Check the bus tires, lights, and oil when needed for basic maintenance.
- Clean busses on a daily basis.
- Must be willing to work in all weather conditions.
Education, Training, and Certification
- Must have a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a passenger endorsement.
- Must have a minimum of a high school education or equivalent.
- Experience preferred.
- Position requires random drug and alcohol testing under the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.
