Tornado Siren Test

Tornado Siren

The first tornado siren test of 2018 will be held on Monday, March 5, 2018 at 10:00 a.m.  During each test, the steady 30-second TORNADO WATCH signal will be tested first followed 4 minutes later (+/-) by the up and down signal for the TORNADO WARNING which, for the test, will be about 1 minute.  An Actual Tornado Warning signal will be 3 minutes long.

Sirens are tested once each month on the first Monday of the month from March through October.  The March and September tests are normally scheduled at 10 am to allow schools that are located near a siren to participate in a tornado drill during the tests if they wish to do so.   The April, May, June, July, August and October tests are conducted at 6 pm.  The September test is always conducted on the second Monday due to Labor Day.
