Transfer Station to Temporarily Close for Construction July 12

The Hillsdale Transfer Station, located at 425 W. Carleton Rd., is temporarily closing starting July 12, 2021, to allow for the construction of a new transfer station building at the facility.

Since closure of the site is required for construction, Modern Waste Systems, which currently operates the Hillsdale Transfer Station under contract with the city, will be closing the facility to customers for the entire duration of the project.

The last day trash will be accepted at the facility is Saturday, July 10, 2021. The anticipated reopening date is September 27, 2021.

Please note that this will not affect curbside municipal trash and recyclables collection. Those services will continue as normal. City residents who require residential trash and recycling services are reminded that they can contact Modern Waste Systems at 1(888) 788-9097 or email at mwstrash@yahoo.com to sign up.
