About Your Bill
All electric and water usage is measured by a meter. Meters are read approximately the same date each month. Approximately 5 days after reading the meters, the bills are processed and sent to the customer.
Bills are due 14 days after the billing date. A 2 day grace period is allowed before a late charge is assessed and a reminder notice mailed.
If the bill is not paid after 26 days from the billing date, a final notice is mailed which allows for an additional 5 days.
If payment is not received after the final notice period, the account will be subject to disconnection. If disconnection occurs, additional charges will be assessed.
Customers are responsible for notifying the Hillsdale BPU when they are no longer responsible for an account so that reads may be taken and a closing bill generated.
