Fall Hydrant Flushing to Begin Oct. 1, 2023

The Hillsdale Board of Public Utilities performs hydrant flushing each spring and fall to maintain the fire hydrants and remove naturally occurring sediment and mineral buildup. Flushing will begin Sunday, Oct. 1, 2023, and may take up to a week to complete. During the flushing program, residents may experience discolored water or water pressure irregularity. This is only temporary, and the water is still safe for consumption. If your water is discolored, running your cold water tap for several minutes should help clear your household lines.
