Hillsdale Featured in MMEA's 'Currents' Magazine
The City of Hillsdale is featured in the June edition of Currents, the Michigan Municipal Electric Association’s monthly magazine.
The digital publication’s June cover story, “Hillsdale: Ambassador from the Northeast,” spotlights the City of Hillsdale and delves into its rich history as one of Michigan’s oldest public power communities.
In addition to recounting Hillsdale’s transformation from an early frontier settlement to a thriving small college and government town, the article also looks at how the Hillsdale Board of Public Utilities continues to meet the city’s increasing demands for power, water and wastewater services, all while offering very competitive rates compared to investor-owned utilities.
It also touches on the BPU’s track record of reliable service, for which it was given the American Public Power Association’s three-year Reliable Public Power Provider (RP3) Diamond Award in 2020.
