Residential Rates

Each utility is comprised of several components. A customer charge is based on the type of account or meter size and is assessed each month whether there is usage or not.

Electric Rates: R1
Customer Charge: $13.25 per month
Energy Charge: $0.10696 per kwh
Power Cost Adjustment Variable per kwh
     

RATE R2 APPLICABILITY

Applicable to residential customers using electric energy for all uses including water heating, space heating and cooling.  Any customer wishing to receive service on this schedule must be registered with the Hillsdale Board of Public Utilities as an all-electric customer.

Customer Charge: $13.25 per month
Energy Charge First 600 KWH $0.10696 per kwh
Energy Charge Greater Than 600 KWH $0.09030 per kwh
     

*Power Cost Adjustment (PCA) rate can vary month to month. A base amount (cost) for energy is in our rates, however if the actual cost to provide you with energy is higher or lower, that difference must be passed on. The major items that will affect the price of power is overall customer demand and the cost of fuel.

Operation Roundup – this program rounds up the monthly bill to the next whole dollar. The amount collected is used to assist BPU customers that meet strict criteria established by the Community Action Agency and the Hillsdale BPU.

Water Rates:
Customer Charge: $ 16.50 per month (based on a ¾” meter)
Commodity Charge: $   5.95 per thousand gallons
Sewer Rates:
Customer Charge: $ 17.00 per month (based on a ¾” meter)
Commodity Charge: $   9.03 per thousand gallons

*Water and sewer rates incur an 82% surcharge when service is provided outside the City of Hillsdale corporate limits.
