Temporary Closures for Water Valve Replacement on March 25-26, 2024
Next week city crews and contractors will be replacing 15 water mainline valves.
Some BPU water customers located near the valves slated for replacement will have their water flow interrupted while this work is completed. The city has already notified those businesses and residents who are expected to have outages.
The nature of this project requires the temporary closure of certain lanes, pedestrian crosswalks, and parking spaces. Please be advised that beginning at 7:00 a.m. on Monday, March 25, the following temporary closures will be in effect until 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 26:
• Closure of the straight and right turn lane on S. Howell Street at Bacon Street for northbound and eastbound traffic.
• Closure of the pedestrian crosswalk for eastbound and westbound pedestrian traffic on S. Howell Street at E. Bacon Street.
• No parking on the east side of S. Howell Street from E. Bacon Street to Waldron Street.
• No parking on the south side of E. Bacon Street from S. Howell Street to 200 feet east of the intersection.
• Closure of the pedestrian crosswalk for eastbound and westbound pedestrian traffic on S. Howell Street just north of E. South Street.
• No parking on the east side of S. Howell Street from E. South Street to 200 feet north of E. South Street.
• Closure of the pedestrian crosswalk for eastbound and westbound pedestrian traffic on S. West Street just south of Barry Street.
• No parking on the east side of S. West Street from Barry Street to 200 feet south of Barry Street.
• No parking on the south side of Barry Street from S. West Street to 200 feet east of S. West Street.
• Closure of the pedestrian crosswalk for eastbound and westbound pedestrian traffic on S. Norwood Avenue just south of W. Bacon Street.
• No parking on the east side of S. Norwood Avenue from W. Bacon Street to 200 feet south of the W. Bacon Street intersection.
• Closure of the pedestrian crosswalk for eastbound and westbound pedestrian traffic on N. West Street just north of the E. Bacon Street intersection.
• No parking on the east side of N. West Street from E. Bacon Street to 200 feet north of the E. Bacon Street intersection.
