Water Outage/Boil Water Advisory for 6/11/21
UPDATE: As of Sunday, 6/13/21, the boil water notice has been lifted. At this time there are no active boil water notices anywhere in the city.
The work being performed on Arbor Court and Hillcrest Drive requires a temporary shut off the water system to perform work to the water line. This work will begin Friday, June 11.The exact time will be determined by the contractor on that day, but should occur for an hour or so in the morning. Addresses that will be affected are: 311 River Street, all of Crescent Court, 120-144 Hillcrest Drive, and all of Arbor Court.
A boil water notice is required due to the water being turned off. It will be in effect until two consecutive 24-hour tests come back clear. During a boil water notice, water for consumption or cooking should be boiled for at least 15 minutes. Bathing and washing clothes and dishes should not cause any problems.
The boil water notice will be in effect for as little as 48 hours after the first water sample is taken but may take longer. Flushing a hose bib outside your home after flow is re-established, till clear, will aid in the clearing of your household lines.
We will notify you when the water is safe to consume.
We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you. You can contact the BPU at 437-6412 with any questions.
